Why participate in this Organ-on-Chip Call?

This call offers consortia the opportunity to take the next step in the development of OoC-technology, where scientific innovation and societal impact meet. It challenges interdisciplinary public-private partnerships to develop models that are not only technologically innovative, but also demonstrably relevant to both female and male physiology. With a focus on international standards and active engagement of end users, this call provides the ideal springboard for implementation and upscaling toward clinical and industrial adoption.

Who is eligible?

The call targets interdisciplinary public-private consortia that build upon previously developed OoC models, with a strong focus on further development, validation, and future application. Each consortium must include at least one for-profit enterprise and one research organisation. The lead applicant must be based in the Netherlands.

Available Budget

Each project may request between €500.000 and €1.000.000 in PPP-Subsidy. Dutch research organisations and Dutch SMEs are eligible for funding under the applicable financial conditions. Cofunding from all consortium partners is required.

Key conditions for participation

  • A mandatory consortium agreement template applies. Only minimal changes to this template are allowed. The consortium must be aware of and comply with the provisions set forth in this agreement. See Section 3.4 of the call text for more information.
  • Dutch SMEs applying for PPP funding must submit a ‘’verklaring geen onderneming in moeilijkheden’’ as part of their full proposal.
