Sunram 5 is a MR safe robotic system for breast biopsy. It is driven by novel pneumatic stepper motors which are rapid prototyped by 3-D printing and laser-cutting.
The aim of this project is to move beyond exoskeletons and develop an autonomous, lightweight, unobtrusive and comfortable flexible robotic suit that enables patients with a complete SCI to walk in everyday situations with minimal use of crutches.
“Our biggest challenge at the start? To determine our product. Because innovative technology does not equal a finished product. Working with the business developers, I outlined a roadmap with a focus on improving patient care and safety. Our first application will be available in stores by early 2020: contact lenses with an innovative bio coating for extra comfort and safety.”
