More than half of Twente’s residents have one or more chronic conditions, and this trend is expected to rise in the coming years. Meanwhile, the healthcare system is reaching its limits, facing an ever-increasing shortage of personnel. Care must be organized differently to remain accessible for individuals with chronic conditions. Technology presents opportunities to facilitate this change. However, technological innovations in care are often underutilized, and many fail to be implemented in practice. The Zorg Innovatie Plein aims to address this issue. It collaborates on promising care innovations by aligning the needs of individuals with chronic conditions and care organizations with the ideas and products from knowledge institutions and companies.
